What People are Saying about Mia & Tiago

“I am just thoroughly delighted. I love the characters, the content, the beauty of the drawings… It’s just not one of those things you expect to happen in your career. How many academic theories have made their way to children’s books?”
Prof. Saras Sarasvathy
What a wonderful creation! Gosia Glinska has executed beautifully on a truly inspired idea: bringing the teachings of Saras Sarasvathy — a superstar of entrepreneurship professors — to life in children’s books. I imagine thousands of kids reading these stories, starting small businesses, and over time building them into big flywheels that change the world.

These ideas are so contemporary and relevant, I loved that I was able to introduce them to my kids.

Makes a complicated topic fun for kids aged 5-10 and older. To be honest, I was afraid that a topic a lot of adults find complicated might be too hard for kids, or that the stories might read like a textbook. But that's not the case at all. In fact, Mia and Tiago are bright, very relatable 11-year-old kids.

Oh my goodness. What a fantastic way to introduce kiddos to entrepreneurship. I love this book and concept, and can't wait to see the rest of the series. Do yourself a favor and expand what you're exposing your children to in terms of things they won't learn in school. Adorable and fun learning!

I don't recall reading ANY books about coming up with good ideas when I was a kid. And I wish I had! This is an engaging story that will get kids taking their ideas seriously.

What a fun and innovative way to teach your kids about the world of entrepreneurship! You'll plant the seeds early and who knows what will sprout!

Let's teach kids they can go beyond the lemonade stand. Love this book showing kids how they can put their gifts, magic and talent out there and make money at any age.

My kids LOVE starting their own little businesses (selling lemonade, crafts, old toys, etc.) so I thought I'd get these books. The simple entrepreneurial tips that kids can apply themselves, coupled with real-life examples got them hooked quickly. The only downside is, each book leaves a cliff hanger to the next, so you'll end up buying all 6 books. :)

There has been an important effort in schools in the US to teach resilience to school-age children… "Mia and Tiago and the Lemonade Principle" builds resilience by showing that not only can a child overcome adversity, but can use it to find new opportunities and make new creations… This is a beautifully crafted story all kids can relate to and use to figure out how to turn adversity into something great.

For the curious parent: the entrepreneurial principles underlying these stories are part of a framework known as “effectuation.” Professor Saras Sarasvathy developed the framework based on rigorous empirical research more than two decades ago when she was doing her Ph.D. at Carnegie Mellon University under Nobel Laureate Herbert Simon's supervision.  Since then, a growing global community has since been advancing the practice and research of effectuation in new directions.

My 7 year old daughter loved this book and wants to read the next one... In today’s gig economy and uncertain world, you can’t rely on a secure job. You have to be entrepreneurial and creative. In these books, Mia & Tiago are learning how to think like expert entrepreneurs. They do that through stories of successful founders and by launching their own venture. If you want a fun way to introduce your kids to entrepreneurship and boost their problem-solving skills, get those books.

Yes. This is is the book I needed growing up. I 'thought' like an entrepreneur but didn't know it. I am so excited for this series and cannot get it into my 7-year old's hands fast enough.

Kids usually think more outside the box than most adults. Getting them to think entrepreneurially should be easier than getting adults to :) This picture book series makes it easy to show kids how they can get started doing things without a large list of demands from parents - definitely something more parents would love to encourage! I'm going to make sure my kids hear & read these multiple times!

A fun, informative, and motivational read. Clearly written with beautiful illustration. I wish this was available when my children were in elementary school. Having spent my whole career driving innovation in corporations and motivating my kids to be inventors, this book is an invaluable resource to children, parents and teachers alike. I highly recommend this text and the others in this series. As Tiago says “Note to self, remember to have fun!”
